Integrated Chemical Production Complex

Ghana and the wider West African region are dependent on imported sodium cyanide, exposing the mining industry to geopolitical disruption and tightening global supply as gold output grows and new applications, including sodium-ion batteries, increase demand.

The complex will transform this position through national-scale domestic production. Salt-brine electrolysis will also unlock caustic soda, chlorine derivatives, medical and water-treatment products, fertilizers and CO₂ for agriculture — moving Ghana from net importer to regional exporter and strengthening industrial self-sufficiency across West Africa.

Environmental Recovery & Land Restoration

Ghana’s long mining history has left extensive gold-bearing residual deposits and tailings, degraded land, polluted waterways, and lasting environmental damage from informal mining practices.

Our programme addresses these legacy deposits using modern, controlled processing technologies without the use of mercury, raising gold recovery from around 20–40% in traditional processing to approximately 80–95%, depending on the material and processing route, while significantly reducing environmental impact.

Green Energy — Solar Power Plant

The plant design integrates renewable energy from the outset, with solar generation and energy storage phased up to 300 MW to provide dedicated, reliable power for the production complex.

This diversified energy model will reduce pressure on Ghana’s national grid, lower the carbon footprint of production and strengthen long-term energy security — creating a cleaner, more resilient industrial platform built for future growth.

Greenhouse Farming at National Scale

Ghana has a dependence on imported vegetables and fresh produce. The domestic agricultural sector has been unable to reliably meet year-round demand, creating continued reliance on imports and pressure on national food security.

The greenhouse programme will reduce this dependence through high-yield, year-round production at national scale, using the complex’s own CO₂ supply and delivering five to ten times open-field yields. It will strengthen food security, improve supply consistency and build a scalable agricultural platform for Ghana, with future export potential across ECOWAS.

One Integrated Platform

A green industrial platform for Ghana and West Africa.

Domestic production, regional supply and responsible industrial development — how one platform compounds value for the country.

Foundation

Trained operators, engineers and managers — direct and indirect employment, with skills transfer and local-content commitments defined from the first phase of every project.

Petrochemical Holding brings three decades of chemical-industry delivery, GreenRock Capital contributes financing and strategic development, and the 24-Hour Economy Authority anchors the government partnership.

A clean, renewables-supported complex producing critical chemistry in Ghana — replacing near-total import reliance with local capability.

Ghana — green industrial platform

Impact

Capacity beyond national demand positions Ghana as a regional supplier of critical mining-sector inputs.

Domestic production reduces exposure to foreign supply chains, pricing shocks and geopolitical disruption.

Ghana’s gateway position — a stable democracy, AfCFTA host, Atlantic ports at Tema and Takoradi — makes it the natural hub for regional industrial services.

Development outcomes

Direct and indirect employment across construction and operations, with structured training programmes at every phase.

Waterways cleaned, mercury and heavy metals removed, farmland returned to communities — recovery delivered as an engineered, measurable programme.

Industrial capacity, formal value chains and export-led growth that outlasts any single project.

Among West Africa’s largest salt resources — feedstock for a new strategic industry.

Along Ghana’s Atlantic coast, sun and seawater have produced salt for generations. That same natural resource is the primary feedstock for the chemistry the platform will make at home — caustic, chlorine and water-treatment products — turning a coastal tradition into the foundation of a new national industry.

Regional Reach

Ghana, serving West Africa.

Strategically positioned in West Africa, Ghana is the gateway to a connected region — growing demand, strong partnerships and limitless potential.

  • Strategic Hub

Centrally located to serve 15+ countries across West Africa.

  • Strong Connections

Reliable supply routes by sea, road and air.

  • Sustainable Growth

Supporting industrialisation and economic progress across the region.

  • Lasting Partnerships

Building trust and delivering value for a better future.
